Will you “eat” this email like a dog eats a pill?

My in-laws have a Great Dane named Luna. She’s a bit aloof but I love her:

A few months ago, Luna got sick.

She wasn’t eating much. She was lazier than normal. She wasn’t as affectionate as she normally would be.

So we took her to the vet.

“Give Luna one of these pills once a day for 3 weeks,” the vet said. “That should clear her right up!”

What the vet neglected to tell us was how difficult it would be to persuade our stubborn pup to ingest the meds…

  • Feed her the pill directly? Good luck.
  • Lay her pill on top of her dog food? Nice try, silly owners…
  • Hold the pill in your hand with a dog treat next to it and hope she’d eat the whole handful? Who woulda thought a dog could avoid eating a pill with such precision!

Then one day we cracked the code.

We smothered Luna’s pill in a big dollop of peanut butter, obscuring the pill out of sight.

And it worked. It was the only thing that worked.

We finally got Luna to ingest her meds!

It made me realize…

Selling coaching and info-products with email is no different than feeding a dog meds.

Just like Luna, most people don’t actually “want” your product.

But they do want the outcome of applying what your product teaches. They might even want you to empathize with a problem they’re experiencing. Or perhaps they want motivation or inspiration.

Either way, if your messaging is too focused on the “pill” you’re selling, then you might get better results by wrapping your pill in a layer of “peanut butter” that your audience REALLY wants.

This begs the question,

“Okay, so if the ‘pill’ is my product, then what are some examples of ‘peanut butter’ I can use to sell more of my products?”

And the answer to that question is delivered on days 1, 2, 3, and 4 of my 5-Day Email Sprint course.

In it, I show you a proven collection of “peanut butters” to use, and exactly how to dollop them around your “pill” to make people WANT to read and buy from your emails.

(On the 5th day, in case you’re wondering why I excluded it above, I show you a unique type of email I only write every other week or so… it deviates slightly from the “pill-peanut butter” analogy… but it keeps your readers on their toes while delivering huge value with little effort.)

The best part?

The concepts in this course are NOT limited to email. You can also apply these principles to your social media content to accelerate your list growth and amplify your organic reach.

P.S. Luna is healthy now. She’s taking a nap on the couch and drooling all over herself as I type this email. Her pills worked… thanks to the peanut butter!
