Email marketing tags: how to use tags to personalize your emails

If you wanna send emails that get opened, clicked, and bought from… Then you should use email marketing tags.

I use tagging to squeeze heaps of customers out of mine and my clients’ email lists, like this:

What is a tag in email marketing?

A tag is a tool in your email software to “flag” and organize subscribers.

You add tags to create sub-lists of users who share common traits or behaviors. This helps you personalize your emails… Beyond just inserting users’ first name.

Tagging “Buyers” – an example:

You could create a tag called “Buyers”. And add it to anyone who buys from you.

Then, whenever you want to send a special message ONLY to buyers… Send your email to ONLY those users with the tag “Buyers”.

Tagging “Warm Leads” – another example:

Tag people who click on a link to your sales page with “Interested” or “Warm Leads”. And then follow up more often with “Interested” users vs. those who didn’t click a link.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg…
